Potential Eagles 2020 Draft Gems, Episode 2: Sandro Platzgummer

In recent years there have been players from the NFL pathway that finally get their chance at the NFL.This year Sandro Platzgummer is one to receive that opportunity.

Back in July of 2019 I saw a couple games from the Austria League. One of the players who stood out the most was Sandro Platzgummer, running back of the Swarco Raiders Tirol.

The 5’11 195-pound running back is a electric runner with amazing cut-back speed. He glides down the field like Alvin Kamara of the New Orleans Saints. With solid hands and decent pass protection. He can make a nice project/third-down back for the Eagles.

With Jordan Howard, whom they acquired in a trade with the Bears, being an unrestricted free agent, Darren Sproles heading for retirement, and Corey Clement, who didn’t rush in a single game last season, also being an unrestricted free agent, Philadelphia is left with Miles Sanders and Boston Scott as the only running backs on the roster.

The Eagles are no strangers to the NFL pathway program. In 2018 spending an 7th round pick on Jordan Mailata from Australia. Who says they won’t do it again by getting Sandro Platzgummer?
