Miles Sanders: Franchise Running back

Miles Sanders was truly something special this year and showed flashes of how dominant he could be. After being picked 53rd overall in the 2019 NFL Draft he had relatively high expectations and lived up to them, something that is rare for Eagles rookies. Sanders was mostly in Jordan Howard’s shadow for the first few games until he began to get more carries as the season progressed. Sanders finally exploded week 8 against the Bills when he put up 74 rushing yards, 44 receiving yards, and 1 touchdown despite having only three carries (65 yard run). Miles gained momentum as the season went on and seemingly got better each week, finishing off the year with 553 total yards and 4 touchdowns in the last 5 weeks. Sanders is the running back we’ve been looking for since McCoy left; with his speed and elusiveness he has a real shot of becoming a stud and a top 10 running back. He has already broken multiple team records including the rookie record for scrimmage yards (1,008 by DeSean Jackson) and rookie rushing yards in a season (637 by LeSean McCoy). At just 22 years old Miles Sanders is just getting started and has an extremely bright future in the NFL.

– Sanders visibly in tears as he picks up the phone to hear he’s been drafted.

“Man, I saw the 2-1-5 on my phone and I just knew. I went in straight tears, man. Everybody can say that I went in straight tears. It was a moment that I’ve been waiting for my whole life and I worked so hard for it. Seeing my mom with a big smile on her face was amazing. It was a special moment today.”
