Entering the offseason, the Eagles biggest need was WR. In Free Agency they didn’t acquire anyone, which gives us the idea that they’ll take a Wide Receiver in the upcoming NFL Draft. As I’ve stated in past articles, I believe this is the best Wide Receiver class ever, with loaded talent like Jerry Jeudy and Ceedee Lamb. There is a big possibility none of them fall to the Eagles, so who will the Eagles front office take?
Brandon Aiyuk is my WR4 behind Jerry Jeudy, Ceedee Lamb and Henry Ruggs III. The former Arizona State star provides a lot of speed and explosiveness into an offense. He can be used in reverse plays and end arounds. His routes are very good and smooth which helps him get a lot of separation. He’s very athletic and he has a solid frame. He can also be used as a return specialist.
Brandon finished the season with 1,912 yards in 65 receptions with an average of 18.3 yards per catch. He also had 8 Touchdowns in 12 games. He had 98 catches, 1,666 yards and 11 Touchdowns in 2 years of college. An adequate pro comparison is Deebo Samuel or Michael Gallup.
If none of the top Wide Receivers fall to the Eagles at 21, they should take Brandon Aiyuk. WR is the Eagles biggest need and they haven’t acquired a new one in the offseason. Last year the Eagles barely made the playoffs and if they don’t improve their team they’ll have a rough season. If Carson Wentz can throw for 4,000 yards with a Tight End being his best receiver, imagine what he’ll do with an actual receiver being his best target.
