One thing Philadelphia always loves is getting defensive line depth for their rotation. Can they look towards Indiana State for the next person in the pipeline?
Meet Inoke Moala, the 6’4, 250-pound defensive end for the Indiana State Sycamores. He is a redshirt-senior who has played in 33 total games. In his career so far, he has racked up 83 total tackles (37 that were solo), 22.5 tackles for loss, 7 sacks, 8 pass deflections, 4 forced fumbles, and 4 fumble recoveries.
What stands out about Inoke? He performs consistently vs every opponent he faces. One of the best examples of this was the Indiana State season opener last year vs Kansas. He wreaked havoc vs the Jayhawks, stopping the running lanes and forcing some excellent quarterback pressures. Some other games he played well in were vs Southern Illinois, Eastern Kentucky, and Western Illinois
His skill set is more of a traditional run stuffer, as he knows when to shoot the gap and secure the cut back lane preventing the runner a chance to make a big play. He provides a great presence bending the edge and getting quarterback hurries. He might not get the numbers in sacks, but he still has a game-changing impact. He still has potential in hand techniques and first-step quickness.
With the Eagles set on the pass rush side in Josh Sweat, who is an athletic pass rush specialist for the rotation, the Eagles should find a counterpart for the run-stopping side. Why not take a chance on the Sycamore superstar defensive end?
